No reason given, no apology and not even a smile. My wife and I ordered a smoked salmon wrap which took over 45 mins to arrive, despite three reminders. I am not surprised as the service is terrible. The Casino on the Sunborn has been virtually empty every time I have been there. Its a shame, but online casinos will be the death of places like this unless the gaming eperience is vastly improved. My husband works in the online casino sector and he commented that the 'return to player rate' is exceptionally lower than online casinos, which means if you hit a bonus on a slot online you get substantially more. There's zero glamour or fun in watching lonely middle aged women feed euro note after euro note into their chosen slot with glassy eyes, or young men clutching their depleting euros whilst anxiously watching the roulette ball rattle round the automatic roulette wheel. Don't get me wrong, it's clean and airy and they're taking COVID seriously, but it just feels flat and very impersonal.
I appreciate that COVID has torn a hole through many a hospitality environment, but this casino is one of the saddest places I've visited since we began living on the Costa 2 years ago. We got married in Gibraltar recently and promised ourselves a true casino experience, but it was such a dissapointment.
